Toula was born in Greece and migrated to Australia in 1958 to marry her husband, who had seen her photo and wished to marry her. Travelling to a new country as a young woman to marry and start a new life was both exciting yet terrifying -Toula was not really sure what to expect. In the early years of their marriage her husband worked in the sugar cane industry, they had three beautiful daughters together and owned and operated a Milk Bar for many years. Those early years were hard as the hours were very long, but with her husband and daughters she was very happy.
‘I love Australia because it has given me everything and provides people with many opportunities! I don’t regret leaving Greece although I have fond memories of my home land. I have been able to meet many wonderful people throughout my life, sharing with others, talking with others’.
Toula’s wish is to continue to be with her family who are the most important people to her.
