In 1971 when we moved to Elder St Greensborough to the house that we had built at the East end, the road was unmade. I looked at an old survey map and saw that we were in the original Elder St which was from Henry St down to the creek. In 1971 the street from Henry St to the Watsonia Railway Station was made, because of the development of war services homes.
Our building block had a huge property behind us to the South owned by Mrs Hickling from whom we bought our building block. On the West side of our block was farmland with cattle, horses and the occasional snakes.

In the thirties, Greensborough was the best place to go rabbitting. The whole area was paddocks. My Dad lived in Northcote and would come here with his ferrets.
