In the comments in the early days of Ivanhoe State School, I was wondering if any person who attended there around this time would be interested in emailing me if they knew anyone of the Johnstons who also attended there. There was Arthur, Hazel, Muriel & Henry (jr also known as Harry or Barney. As far as I know they lived on Waterdale Road.
As my daughter wants me to write something of my life, my husband who was Harry Johnston from 1st May 1948 has passed away I have no one who can help me in this quest.
I, myself lived at 123 Valentine Street Ivanhoe & started school at this school in (I think) 1935 & have been trying to get some information about The Johnston family & about Miss Lombard who taught me to write while I was attending the Ivanhoe School.
Hoping one of the persons who have already written these Items can help me out. I remember my husband saying they went to the Yarra River swimming & his sister Hazel was a swimming champion
