A ramble from the lower part of town and along the river bank learning about historic sites and the pioneering families that settled there from 1840 onward.
Built about 1930 to assist those out of work during the depression years and contributed greatly to the social well being and health of Greensborough residents.
It was sponsored by James William Black and opened by celebrated swimmer and businessman of the day Sir Frank Beaurepaire.
The structure still remains but the condition of the river is now not conducive for swimming except perhaps for the ducks.
Wendy Baxter (nee Lobb) whose family lived at Greensborough Park recalls swimming in there for the last time when she was 15 just after Parry’s had started their toiletry production where the mower shop is now and came up having a mouthful and smelling of lavender (not a happy memory)
