Nicholas Grange

Growing up in Lancashire Wigan an old mining town, nicks career’s started young. At the age of 9 he worked at a grocery. Grocery’s back then aren’t like the ones we have today, they were much more personalised instead of buying for the week you would buy for the day, because you couldn’t keep food for very long, this was before refrigerators.

Nick was a usual kid taking advantage of all the activities he could to see what he really liked, liked  cricket, swimming, drawing and music.

Growing up on the out skirts of town he developed an enjoyment and interest in nature studies, birds, animals, trees and the outdoors something that has stayed with him still today

1969 aged 22 nick moved to Canada, his brother had already been living there for a while.

Nick worked at white spot limited in Vancouver, nick had only been working there for a short while before being asked to be the assistant product and quality control manager.

The job involved making sure the quality of the food being produced in all 30 odd stores where of the same standard.

Nick worked till 1980, then he and his wife closed up shop and went travelling the world for 14 months. He re-joined the hospitality business, working in various hospitals till 2013.

Nick has lived in the Nillumbik shire for all is life in Australia either in St. Andrews or in Diamond creek, nick is currently a member of the Diamond creek OMNI and Eltham men’s shed.
