Pay back – bug style

Recently, among my garden branches, lopping tall tips with extended lopping shears. I thought a few prickly leaves had dropped down my back. I was wrong. Venom suddenly flooded my back with stinging fire. Disturbed tree dwelling spiders had attacked me leaving 5 fiery lumps across my back. Lavender oil put the fire out, but for the next week I was annointed daily to stop severe itching.

Friend John, on the other side of the town, was another recent bug casualty. Ruthlessly waving his whipper snipper in long grass. he gleefully sent large bull ants flying in all directions. Unfortunately they flew all over him landing on arms, legs and torso. This was a bug brigade of paratroopers who savagely struck the predator destroying their nest. John became another gardener seeking lavender relief at the first aid post.

Remember. the bugs are out there, and they will fight back. Gardeners take care.
